Far away in Lappland in peacefull fellvalley slumbers tiny mountain village Kilpisjärvi. It is a village of three realms, special and international. Over kilometer high fells create magnificent profile to horizin and  protect Kilpisjärvi from gusty seawinds.

Here reindeers graze still free and crystal clear rivers and lakes provide pure water and tasty fishes. People from everywhere come here to pick wanted goldenyellow berries which grow among rare and beautiful flowers. Air is the purest in Europe, snow the whitest and here is plenty of room for everyone.

            If you want to see Northern lights this is the place to be. While sun is sleeping behind horizon they dance their hypnotic dance in the dark winter sky. Christmas divides the winter. It is time for resting and enjoying delicious food in front of fireplace.

            Soon spring will come. Bringing along incredible brightness, warmth reflecting snow banks, tanned skiers in bikinis and crowds of happy people. We have hundreds of kilometres well maintained and marked snowmobile routes which go by the most stunning views of Lappland. If you have never tried icefishing, downhill skiing in powder snow or paragliding this is good place to try them.

            When sun will not go below horozon summer has begun. Hiking routes are there for you and rivers with plenty of fish are waiting for fishermen. If you choose so swimming in ----- will give you a life lasting memory. Norway with its magnificent fjords is right next to us. Its beautiful coast towns are filled with life, sounds of seabirds and with various seafood offering market places.

            Fall is yet to come. Scenery chances its colour glowing in red and yellow. This colourfull period of year is called Ruska. Air beomes crispy and this is propably the best time of year to be outside exploring and gaining memories. Soon after Ruska has gone northern winds will shake the leaves to the ground and winter will arrive again.

This is the way how year passes by here. Every year there is something new to see and experience. Seasons will turn to others like they have done hundreds of years. And still everytime they somehow find a way to surprise.

            Gasthouse Haltinmaa is small, clean and cosy family business just next to other services. And we are open all around the year. Our accommodations are semidetached cottages (40m2) which are equipped with 2 bedrooms and ----- in living room, TV, iron fireplace, table and chairs, mini-kitchen (including : 2 ----, sink, small fridge, microwave oven, coffee maker, cutlery for 6 and cooking kit), sauna, shower, WC, and in vestibule bars for drying clothes.

We also provide childrens playing area, inside barbeque place and other places to make fire.

Lapintyttö ( Lappish girl) – restaurant serves real local tastes, homecooked meals and at crowded times popular and generous buffe´ table.

Whether you want to meet true lapplanders or traveller all over the world it can be done in our bar called Haltibaari. With its almost everyday opening hours, warm and welcoming atmosphere its easy to approach.

Our company also advices and transmits freetime services which are either individually planned or weekly-programs for larger groups.
